Salon Styletto is done. Well, almost.

22 12 2008

Wow, a lot has happened. The salon is 99% finished, we just need a sign in our window and some artwork put up!

I just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone who has helped me, from the moral support to helping me paint the walls and lay flooring. You have all helped to make my dreams come true. I really means a lot to me. Once all is completely done you will see this thing updated a lot more often, with everything you have been waiting for.

On another note, our design is done for the salon, and thanks to Lifter Baron it looks absolutely amazing!!!

In a few short weeks, the best salon to hit the planet will open its doors. Salon Styletto which has done many events throughout San Diego will (if all goes as planned) be opening November 1, 2008. Located in La Mesa, this boutique salon will not only provide all hair services, but we also will be carrying the best brands/products for your hair. We will have a lot of promotional events going on for the first few months so if your in the area stop in and say hi!

As far as this blog goes…

With the opening of the salon we will have people that will be involved who have time to post the blogs, tutorials and all the fun information you have been waiting for.

As said before, keep checking back for updates.

salon in the mix.

8 09 2008

So while we are waiting for this CSS coding thing to get situated, I have come across an amazing building to put my salon in. Tuesday I will know if it is a go! What will this bring forth you ask?

  • The DIY in construction will come out that is for sure.
  • We will have a solid team of hairstylist and makeup artist for all events in San Diego, and Los Angeles.
  • Also, tutorials from bunches of different minds!

Not that anyone looks at this yet, I am just letting everyone know things are still coming along, just one piece at a time. But when it is done, it will sure as hell be phenomenal.

Keep checking back and let us know what you want to see!

tattoo care guide.

8 09 2008

You go in to get your first tattoo, its amazing! The artist did a beautiful job, your stoked. On your way home you realize you totally forgot to find out what the heck you are supposed to do with the dang thing, and all of your friends cell phones are broken! (I assume this is the reason people need to know)

For some reason I people message me all the time, asking how I care for my tattoos after I get them done. Now I am in no way a professional, I just have a lot of tattoos that until I found how I liked to go about caring for them I was I guess you could say shopping around.

Here is my ULTIMATE favorite way to deal with a new tattoo…

First of all when I am finished, my amazing artist (Jackie Dunn of Flying Pather) will wrap it up all nice for me. From that point on its up to you how you care for it.

Ingredients:

  • unscented soap
  • aquaphor healing ointment from eucerin
  • unscented lotion
  • a towl

After finishing up I keep the bandage on for a few hours, when I am around a clean bathroom, I wash up. I rinse the tattoo for a second and use the unscented soap to clean it. Then towel dry. For the first 3 days I use the aquaphor. I put it on 1-3 times a day and a VERY thin layer (if you can scrape it off with your nail, you put too much). In my opinion worse thing you can do while a tattoo is healing is put too much stuff on it (or go tanning then swimming) before putting any more on I wait until it is totally dried out. I also clean it once at night and in the morning. After those three days are up I switch to the unscented lotion and whenever it starts to feel dry or itchy I put that on.

Well, I hope that helped you guys out!

Let me know if you have questions.
